RENOWNED FEMALE SINGER Knowless Butera is edging closer to releasing her new album on June 14. Dubbed ‘Inzora’, the singer’s new album will be her fifth since she started her music career 11 years ago. Over the years, she has established herself among Rwanda’s top artistes, a milestone she wanted to celebrate last year. However, the covid-19 pandemic spoiled Knowless’ plans to celebrate her 10-year anniversary in music after she was forced to postpone her concert during which she was expecting to launch two albums at the same time by the end of 2020. “I wanted to have a big concert to celebrate all the milestones that I achieved since I started music. We kept hoping that the pandemic would relax for me to celebrate my anniversary with a double album launch but the pandemic couldn’t allow us,” she told The New Times. The singer has this time round decided to release the two albums separately, starting with ‘Inzora’ which goes to public next week while the second will be released as soon as life comes back to normal. “Inzora’ comprises 11 songs, 10 of which have not been released yet. The new album is made up of singles and collaborations reflecting love and life and is a mix of secular and gospel songs and will be available on different online music platforms from June 14. The singer was expecting to headline a concert for the album release on June 16, but she and her management decided to push the concert to July but told The New Times that they were not ready for the album launch yet’. Having started off as a high school student doing music from scratch with no support and no financing, Knowless says she pushed herself to breakthrough, against many odds, and for her, the experience is worth celebrating. She attributed her success to producers like Junior Multisystem who produced her very first song ‘Nyumva‘, which was a collaboration with then singer Young Junior as well as then top producer Lick Lick, who produced the song ‘Komera’ which earned her a big fan base at a very young age. She also emphasized the role of Kina Music Label on her music development, precisely her producer and husband Clement Ishimwe, who pushed her music beyond the level she never imagined. ‘Inzora’ becomes the fifth album under the multi-award winning female artist’s belt after ‘Queens’ in 2016, ‘Butera’ (2014), ‘Uwo Ndi we’ (2013) and ‘Komera’ in 2011.
