The Queen of England, thanks to President Obama and wife Michele, has another Ipod. According to the Obamas Spokes person, Robert Gibbs, the Queen is known to be a fan of IPods and has one that can hold 100,000 songs. Ahead of the scheduled G20 summit in London, Obama and his wife made a royal visit to the Queen on Wednesday evening. The historic meeting took place at the Buckingham Palace. Before the meeting Obama spoke to the press and expressed his excitement to meet the Queen for the first time. “I am very much looking forward to meeting her for the first time later this evening ... I think in the imagination of people throughout America, what the Queen stands for, her decency and her civility and what she represents is very important.”Obama said. What must have been on Obama’s mind however was whether or not she would appreciate the gift he got her. Obama is reported to have given the Queen a personalized Ipod that has footage of her visit to America in 2007, as well as numerous Broadway songs. In return, the Queen and Prince Philip gave the Obamas a signed photo of themselves in a silver frame. According to the White House notebook the Obamas were really delighted to meet the Monarch. “Her majesty is delightful,” Obama shouted to reporters as he and first lady Michelle Obama left the Palace. Gibbs told the press the President called home to tell his daughters that he had met the Queen. The first family, he said had been talking about the visit for a long time. The meeting, however, reminded him of another family member, Gibbs told the press reminded Obama of his grandmother. “The president remarked to me this morning that her sensibility sort of reminded him a bit of his grandmother, only with a much bigger house.” Agencies
