The Colombian rider claimed the victory after outsprinting a host of contenders at the finish-line. Out of 75 cyclists who make this year’s peloton, a group of 68 used the same time (2:33:43) as the stage winner. In Monday’s Stage 2, the riders will ride 120.5 kilometres from Kigali to Huye District in the Southern Province.
