Rwanda on Wednesday, March 31, reported 138 new Covid-19 cases and one fatality linked to the virus. Gisagara District in Southern Province reported the highest number of daily infections, 47. Kigali City came second with 17 new Covid-19 cases. On the same day, 181 people recovered from Covid-19. The new results were obtained from 9,464 sample tests collected in the last 24 hours. So far, the country has recorded a total of 21,783 Covid-19 infections since mid-March last year, of whom 20,182 have already recovered. The death toll stands at 307 in Rwanda. According to the Ministry of Health, of the current 1,294 Covid-19 patients in the country, five are in critical condition. Meanwhile, Rwanda has so far vaccinated 348,926 people against Covid-19. The government is eying to rollout the second phase of vaccination this week as a measure to keep the virus at bay.
