Children speak out on their rights

I am Jizera Uwase and I am 12 years old in P.6 at Saint Famille primary school. I know that I have the ‘Right to Education.’ My parents always make sure that they pay my school fees. All children have a right to go to school. My name is Eric Bukuru and I am 13 years old in P.6. Some elders violate children’s rights intentionally. They take the advantage because they think we do not know our rights, but we know. I am called Vinodi Ndamukunda, a pupil at Rugando Primary School. It could have been better if a lesson is introduced in schools, to educate us about our rights. This will help most of us to understand our rights. I am called Festo Munyemana and I am a pupil at Kigali Harvest Primary School. I am 14 years old, in P6. I know that I have rights as a child. I got to know about it from one radio station which I do not remember. I do not like elders who do not teach children about their rights. My name is Samel Shimimana and I am in P 6 studying at Saint Famille Primary School. I am 13 years old and I know that as children we have a ‘Right to Good Health.’ My mother takes me to hospital, so that I can remain healthy. Adeline Uwaku is my names and I am a pupil at Ruganda Primary School. I am 12 years old in P.5. All children are entitled to their rights. Although others do not know about it, I am aware because my parents told me. I always make an effort to tell other children what it means. Ends
