AFTER ten days out of action due to injuries, Amavubis duo of Eric Zidane Nsabimana and Bertrand Iradukunda are available for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) quarterfinal clash against Guinea on Sunday January 31 at Limbe Stadium. The match will kick-off at 9pm CAT. Nsabimana is a defensive midfielder while Iradukunda is an attacking midfielder. Amavubi head coach Vincent Mashami is aware of the threat posed by Guinea and will not take any chances on Sunday as he has made it clear that his target is guiding Rwanda to their first semi-final since the CHAN tournament was created in 2009. “I am so happy that Iradukunda and Nsabimana are back from injury. It means that now we will have more options in midfield,” Mashami said, adding that reaching the semi-final will be a major milestone for the team. Meanwhile Amavubi will be without their center back Thierry Manzi on Sunday due to the respiratory problems and Emery Bayisenge is expected to replace him. Amavubi are winless in their last three meetings with Guinea in all competitions; with two encounters having ended in draws while Guinea won once – during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in 2018.
