The Ideal Democratic Party (PDI) campaigned in Musanze town, on Wednesday, July 10, promising to help increase access to electricity if its candidates are re-elected to parliament. The party's president, Mussa Fazil Harerimana, made this pledge in Muhoza sector, Musanze District, while campaigning for its 55 parliamentary candidates as well as rallying supporters to support the candidacy of incumbent President Paul Kagame of RPF-Inkotanyi for the presidency. It means there are no other activities that should contradict his vision, Harerimana told supporters in Musanze. PDI seeks your votes to support Kagame in the continued development trajectory of this country. He cannot achieve that alone. That's why we urge you to vote for our candidates back into the lower house, he added. He recommended that the party puts more effort into addressing youth unemployment. “We will support this party since they endorsed Paul Kagame for the continuous development of our country. But we recommend that they advocate for establishing more vocational training centers to help the youth secure jobs,” he said. Ernestine Cyubahiro Ingabire, a 21-year-old high school graduate from Mpenge Cell, Muhoza Sector, echoed the same sentiments. “I would like to see the party speaking for street children and helping young women who dropped out of school to get training in tailoring and other such occupations so as to ably transform their lives,” she said.
