Rwanda recorded 182 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, January 17, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 11,032. Sundays cases were detected from 5,395 tests that were carried out on the day in different parts of the country. According to an update from the Ministry of Health, Kigali had the largest of new cases on Sunday, registering 128 infections in the day. It was followed by Kirehe with 13; Gatsibo with 10; Rwamagana with 6; Rulindo with 6 too; Musanze with 5; Rubavu with 5; Gicumbi with 4; Huye with 2; Nyaruguru with 1; Ngoma with 1; and Nyagatare with 1. Meanwhile, 170 people recovered from the virus on Sunday, and this takes the total number of recoveries in the country to 7,363. On the same day, two Covid-19 related deaths were registered. The deceased, according to the Ministry of Health were two men of 60 and 61 years of age from Kigali. This takes the total number of deaths related to the virus to 142.
