The Ministry of Health reported 108 new cases of Covid-19 in the city of Kigali on Tuesday, January 12. In total, the country registered 166 new cases on the day: 108 from Kigali; 18 from Huye; 9 from Kirehe; 7 from Rwamagana; 7 from Nyagatare; 6 from Rubavu; 6 from Muhanga; 3 from Nyamasheke; 1 from Rusizi; and 1 from Bugesera. On the same day, one Covid-19 related death was registered. The Ministry identified the victim as a 55-year-old man. With this, Covid-19 related deaths in Rwanda have reached 125. The total number of confirmed cases of the virus in the country now stands at 9,950. Of these; 9, 674 have recovered, while 2,851 are still active cases. The total number of Covid-19 tests carried out in the country so far are 771,275, according to the Ministry of Health figures.
