Although she could not launch her album ‘Inganzo y’Imitima’ as promised due to the spike in Covid-19 infections and death toll, all is not gloomy for Clarisse Karasira. The fast-rising cultural singer, just hours ago, announced that she is now engaged, having said ‘yes’ to her boyfriend identified as Sylvain de Joie Ifashahayo in an eventful engagement proposal held on Friday, January 8. The singer, 23, shared the news of her engagement with a photo of her princess cut diamond ring on her social media accounts on Saturday, January 7. “The king has asked me to marry him. Humbly and thankfully, I have said ‘Yes’! Im ready to live with him forever in his ‘Palace’. Thank you God, thank you my love,” Karasira posted on her Instagram page. That was a few months after he, and his colleague, organised a concert dubbed ‘Umurage Nyawo Kamaliza Concert’ in tribute to legendary musician Kamariza. He’s also become a lead member of Karasira’s management team and has been helping her in the preparations of her debut album launch that was supposed to take place on December 26 [Boxing Day]. “We’ve been partners in this music business since I knew her some years back but the more we got to know each other the more special she became to me,” the 27-year-old told The New Times in a telephone interview. “She loves people and her country and all these made me feel that he can be a good partner for life. I am the happiest person in the world at the moment!” he added. Karasira and Ifashahayo now have their eyes set on tying the knot but details about their marriage are yet to be announced.
