Ghanaian midfielders Seidu Yassif Dauda and Richmond Lamptey are among three new players that Rwandan champions APR FC officially unveiled on Sunday, July 7. Dauda and Lamptey joined APR FC from Ghana Premier League champions Samartex FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko respectively. Another player who was unveiled is Mauritanian attacker Mamadou Sy who signed from Nouakchott Kings. The trio penned a two-year deal each as they hope to contribute their quota in the club's quest to maintain their domestic dominance on top of dreaming big in the CAF Champions League next season. Dauda, Lamptey and Mamadou are reportedly part of coach Darko Novic's squad which he will use during the 2024 CECAFA Kagame Cup which will take place in Tanzania and Zanzibar from July 7-21. The squad, it is said, includes more new signings Arsene Tuyisenge, Frodouard Mugiraneza, Olivier Dushimimana and Gilbert Byiringiro who joined the club from Rayon Sports, Kiyovu SC, Bugesera FC and Marines FC respectively. Novic’s side will leave Kigali for Tanzania on Monday, July 7, just two days before the tournament kickoff. APR FC won the Rwandan Primus National League five times in a row, including two times as invincibles. The club has yet again reinforced its squad as they now their major target is to go far on the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.
