American R&B/pop artist, songwriter, and actress Jordin Brianna Sparks has named Rwanda as one of her favourite places to visit. The 30-year-old, who rose to fame after winning the 2007 American Idol, made the revelation on Wednesday, December 16, after her performance at ‘Endangered Rangers’, a Covid-19 virtual fundraiser in support of African Wildlife and their human protectors. The just-concluded series of in-person events were organised to celebrate the courageous men and women on the front lines of anti-poaching as well as raise funds to support African rangers to curb the rising wildlife poaching during the pandemic. When a one ‘Ericus’ requested her for a performance in Kigali, Sparks reminisced that Rwanda’s food from one of Kigali’s popular restaurants is one of the things she enjoyed most during her stay when she last visited the country. “Is Heaven in Kigali still up and running? That spot had some hot (nice) food!” Born in Arizona, United States, Jordin Sparks holds the record for the youngest winner of the famous singing contest American Idol series, which she did at the age of 17. Her song, ‘No Air’, a collaboration with Chris Brown, is currently the third highest-selling single by any American Idol contestant, selling over three million digital copies in the United States. The song earned Sparks her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
