Nick Barigye, the Rwanda Finance Limited Chief Executive has been appointed to the Board of the World Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC). Barigye’s inclusion in the board was confirmed last week. Rwanda Finance Limited joined the Alliance of International Financial Centers in October this year to become the 3rd African financial center (after Casablanca Finance City and EDB Mauritius). WAIFC is involved in the promotion international financial centers on a global scale as well as sharing of best practices and communicating jointly. WAIFC facilitates cooperation between financial centers, the exchange of best practices, and communication with the general public. The membership of RFL into the global entity is expected to improve its exposure, networks and insights in the process of developing the Kigali International Finance Centre which seeks to position Rwanda as a financial hub by fostering cross-border trade and investments.
