Family and friends of the late Disk jockey, Virgil Karuranga, commonly known as DJ Miller, have announced that they are releasing his album ‘Shani’ on December 4. The development was announced on Monday, November 23, by DJ Miller’s wife Hope Nigihozo. “We are happy to announce the forthcoming release of DJ Miller’s debut album ’Shani’,” reads part of the statement. The soulful debut album comprises 10 songs, including singles and collaborations, produced by celebrated producer Davy Denko, and will feature several big names from the local music industry. The album is named after DJ Miller’s daughter and only child, Shani who, according to the statement, inspired the making of this album to honor the devotion and passion the DJ always had for music. “DJ Miller had promised the release of an album before his regretted and untimely death, and as his family and friends, we are honoured to keep his promise and more importantly, his legacy,” the statement further reads. According to Bruce Intore, Dream Team DJs manager, of which DJ Miller was a member, the intention to release the album is to achieve the DJ’s ambitions to release an album. Artistes whose collaborations are on the DJ’s album will lead performances during the album’s virtual release. DJ Miller passed away on April 5, after he reportedly succumbed to heart-related complications. The 29-year-old, who was considered by many as one of the best DJs in town, is survived by a wife and one-year-old daughter.
