Although the bizarre fashion trend of wearing faded jeans has been spotted on celebrities, today it’s no longer a thing for only Hollywood’s superstars, but rather for whoever falls into the fashionista category. If you have been looking for something a little different from formal pants, and not too decent for an informal occasion, or weekend, switch to faded jeans for a new look. For most teenagers, girls inclusive, jeans are the most valuable player in the wardrobe. Usually, this is not because they are the most stylish or expensive piece of clothing worn, or even the best-looking. But it’s the issue of adaptability and comfort that drags them into the trend. Unlike other trousers like the Safaris, kaki, jeans can be worn both as an informal and formal attire. Whether you call it a fashion disaster or not, true fashionistas call it a hot trend, which cannot lag behind the times. Jackson Karekezi, 25, says faded jeans are designed to flatter the wearer, and are the hottest style if matched on fancy sporty shoes, flats or healed boots. It’s a mini-revolution in the fashion industry, and its demand has hiked with millions of people flocking into markets in search of faded jeans. Everyone wishes to stand out from the crowd. Its ok, you can still wear walkers, and ladies’ skirts, but you can swap to faded jeans once in awhile. Petite Nyinawumuntu, 22, confesses that her wardrobe is almost filled with different pairs of faded jeans. “I love wearing jeans, but for this matter, I prefer the faded ones,” she says, adding, “I actually have no problem wearing them even on Sunday when I’m going to Church.” In the world of faded designer jeans, the focus is more on the art and details, which provides the wearer the true ability to emphasise more on their styles. Whether it is the newest trend or the hottest in designer jeans, the trend is a flatter and makes the wearer feel greater and stylish. Jean wearers are opting for more styles and are wearing them loud and proud. Designer jeans are boasting colourful collections of crystals, coloured pewter, and bold embroidery in chic shapes. The more decorative the pockets the hotter they are. The same fad is noticed in denim jeans. Today, the same craze has taken over the realm of fashion industry. And there are designed in different portfolios. Some are skinny, while others are tossing out wide legs in favour of comfortable and trendy straight leg versions. It’s such an interesting trend, Calvin Gisa, 30, says that the fashion stars have been in desperate need of something new for decades. He adds that today, people have an opportunity to enjoy the hottest trends and hang the boring walkers and other fashions. Everyday we keep seeing some new design jeans, Brian Shema, 25, wonders. Bellbottomed style is pretty old but is back in fashion. People are crazy about jeans and its just fashion jeans oomph everywhere. It’s almost like a staple in men wear collection. It is the other name for style. Highly durable and comfortable, jeans are a great fashion statement. “If you’re in the shop for a new pair of jeans, consider your style and size,” says Jimmy Mulisa, a shop assistant at 2020 Boutique. He adds, “Classic straight cut styles with a little new twist never go out fashion.” Blue faded jeans are the most versatile and can be worn with all types of T-shirts, or shirts.
