“I am a Taxi conductor operating from Nyabugogo Taxi Park,” John Murenze reveals what he does for a living. Below he tells us about his day: I wake up at 5a.m, wash my face, make the bed and immediately head to Nyabugogo Taxi Park. It does not cost me any coin, since I get to work with a friend’s taxi. By 6a.m I am already at work. By 7a.m, I have started my work. We operate from Nyabugogo to Remera. I have breakfast in Remera. We transport people to and fro Remera and Nyabugogo. I collect fares from the passengers. I usually have lunch at 1p.m from either Remera or Nyabugogo. It depends on where the time finds me. At 2p.m work is not all that good. It normally picks up in evening. By 4p.m we are busy, but some times interrupted by the traffic jam. It’s that same time when even passengers become complicated, some try to dodge paying making the work hard for me. Work goes on until 10p.m. I go home and immediately have a shower. I take some time watching some movies as I wait for supper. I normally have supper at 11p.m and go to bed by mid night. Ends
