Popular brewery, Bralirwa, has launched a campaign to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of Rwandans during tough economic conditions following the Covid-19 pandemic. The campaign, which is under the firm’s Mützig brand, is dubbed ‘success follows perseverance’, will highlight stories of different entrepreneurs in different fields who have creatively kept their businesses going in the face of tough circumstances. The campaign will celebrate professionals in various fields whose success is driven by outstanding characteristics such as passion, hard work, patience and perseverance. “The entrepreneurs in the campaign embody so many Rwandans that have found creative ways to continue to be successful. To them we say, cheers to you,” said Hessel Hoekstra, the Marketing Manager at Bralirwa. The campaign seeks to position the Mutzig brand as a celebratory drink perceived with quality and success. “We hope that Rwandans will appreciate the campaign and share a beer with a friend, family member or business partner who they admire for their perseverance and say: Cheers to you,” added Hoekstra. Mützig was launched in Rwanda in 1987. The brand is originally from Europe, in a town called Alsace (between Germany and France), but is also available across Sub-Saharan Africa and is brewed in Cameroon, Ivory Coast, DRC and Congo Brazzaville. Local brewer Bralirwa has reported a growth in beer sales in the first half of 2020 despite the Covid-19 pandemic that has slowed business activity across other sectors of the economy. According to the firm’s financials, sales volumes in the first half of 2020 rose by 3.8 per cent to 674,767 hectolitres from 650,202 hectolitres in the same period last year. This is at a time when a majority of products in the local market have recorded a drop in volume.
