Youths train in entrepreneurial, leadership skills

Junior Chambers International (JCI) Rwanda, a national non government organisation yesterday ended a two day training of 70 youths in entrepreneurship development and leadership. The training aimed at equipping young leaders and entrepreneurs with better leadership and management skills for development. Tony Francis Ntore, the President of JCI-Rwanda said that the training is part of the institution’s programmes to develop local youths into effective business leaders. “This would turn the youths into active citizens, who can contribute to the development of an economy,” he explained. It was held at Umbano Hotel, formerly known as Novotel Hotel under the theme; “Active Citizens through Leadership in East Africa.” The training involved leadership and self presentation skills for better project reporting and intervening during meeting. The training which was facilitated by JCI partners from Africa Mid East Development countries (Amedc) cost each trainee $20 (Rwf11,358). The finalists will be awarded certificates. JCI-Rwanda comprises of young professionals and entrepreneurs within the age group of 18-40 years. Last month, JCI-Rwanda trained its members on access of finances for entrepreneurial development, attitude of championship and business perceptive. Pascal Mugisha, the National Secretary General of JCI-Rwanda said that their capacity building programme is done in partnership with other organisations. JCI-Rwanda is affiliated to JCI a US based worldwide federation operating in 115 countries. Its objectives are to empower youths into responsible citizens for development. Ends
