Eight people tested positive for Covid-19 in Rwanda on Saturday, October 24. Of the new cases, 7 were identified in Kigali and one in Nyagatare District. The country recorded no single recovery on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health. So far, 95 percent of all people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Rwanda have recovered. The latest results were obtained from 3,698 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Rwanda by mid-March, the country has confirmed a total of 5,060 Covid-19 cases of whom 4, 806 have already recovered. Concerning testing, in total, Rwanda has carried out 545,920 tests of Covid-19. The death toll for Covid-19 stands at 34 people. Rwanda has been listed among the countries on which Covid-19 travel restrictions into the EU territory should be gradually lifted. According to a statement from the Council of the European Union on October 22, the move follows a review under the recommendation on the gradual lifting of the temporary restrictions on non-essential travel into the EU.
