Four people tested positive for Covid-19 in Kigali on Tuesday, October 20. The results, according to the Ministry of Health, were obtained from 997 tests taken in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the country reported no single recovery. So far, according to the Ministry of Health, 96 percent of all people who tested positive of Covid-19 in Rwanda have recovered. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Rwanda by mid-March, the country has confirmed a total of 4,996 Covid-19 cases of whom 4,797 have already recovered. Concerning testing, in total, Rwanda has carried out 536,779 tests of Covid-19. So far, the country’s Covid-19 death toll stands at 34 people. Rwanda was on Tuesday applauded by the World Health Organisation (WHO) “for instituting a strong system” that has enabled the country to “effectively confront” the Covid-19 pandemic.
