BPR Bank Rwanda Plc conducted a three-day roadshow in Kigali from June 26 to 28, named ‘Ibyiza kubacu’, aimed at empowering its clients for a brighter future and fostering their participation in the community. It started at Kimironko market, proceeded to Kabuga market, and wrapped up at Nyabugogo market. The occasion witnessed a significant turnout of attendees from the three markets, gaining insights into BPR Bank Rwanda’s offerings. Nyabugogo, Kimironko, and Kabuga were selected as venues due to BPR’s focus on youth, women, SMEs, and other business sectors. ALSO READ:35 complete business training supported by BPR Bank According to Philibert Rutagengwa, the senior sales manager at BPR, this campaign aims to engage with the entire population, and their customers, presenting a range of products, accounts, loans, and services available to them. “We are targeting the mass of the people, the aim is to have new accounts, we are open to young people, women, and other business segments, and in these markets is where the majority of SMEs are located,” he said. During the roadshow, BPR assembled multiple artistes to entertain customers, with new clients opening accounts and others reactivating old ones, all in the spirit of empowering consumers for a brighter future. “Kimironko was a big show; we opened more accounts and even reactivated more. Kabuga was even bigger since it drew more people from Rwamagana, Muyumbu, Masaka, and Gasabo, which was incredible, and we even met our aim of how many accounts we wanted people to open,” Rutagengwa said. It plays a vital role in bolstering the growing economy and promoting financial inclusion by prioritising inclusive growth, equality, financial opportunities, money management, investment schemes, living standards, and poverty alleviation. “We are also targeting the upcoming exposition in the middle of August when we will have a large display and invite people to come and create accounts. We hope to continue this campaign upcountry by the end of the year,” Rutagengwa added. Rutagengwa praised the people for their enthusiasm, stating that their journey would be interesting as BPR is a bank that supports individuals from the lower stage to higher levels. Aphrodite Maniradukunda, a participant in the Nyabugogo roadshow, shared that he opened an account prompted by convenient access at his workplace. He is eagerly looking forward to depositing his daily earnings in the nearby branch of the bank.
