104 people recovered from Covid-19 in Rwanda on Saturday, October 17. The recoveries decreased the total number of active cases, those who have not yet recovered from Covid-19 to 169 country-wide. On the same day, 6 new cases of the pandemic were reported. Of the new cases, four were detected in Mahama Refugee Camp in Kirehe District, one was identified in Kigali and another one in Gicumbi district. The new cluster of refugee camps was discovered on Wednesday, whereby 26 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in Mahama Refugee Camp. Kiziba Refugee Camp also recently reported Covid-19 infections. The latest results were obtained from 2,224 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours, the ministry said. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Rwanda by mid-March, the country has confirmed a total of 4,971 Covid-19 cases of whom 4,768 have already recovered. Concerning testing, in total, Rwanda has carried out 532,528 tests of Covid-19. So far, 33 people have succumbed to the pandemic countrywide.
