Rwanda on Tuesday, October 6, reported six new Covid-19 cases, maintaining a streak of recording few cases of the virus for a number of days. According to the Ministry of Health, of the new cases, three were detected in Nyagatare District, two in Kigali City, while one case was recorded in Rubavu District. On the same day, 20 people recovered from the pandemic in the country. The latest results were obtained from 1, 306 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the ministry said. In total, Rwanda has carried out 507,964 tests of Covid-19. Since September 24, Rwanda has been recording less than 15 daily infections, and most notably single digits for much of the past one week. The achievement is a milestone compared to the month of August and the beginning of September when the country often reported an upward of 100 new Covid-19 cases daily. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Rwanda, the country has confirmed a total of 4,873 Covid-19 cases of whom 3,246 have already recovered. The country’s Covid-19 death toll so far stands at 29 people.
