US-based Rwandan singer Medard Jobert Ngabo, commonly known by stage name Meddy, has offered to pay school fees for a seven-year-old boy Bright Karyugahawe, whose video dancing the singer’s new song “We Don’t Care” went viral on social media. The talented dancer, who is known for his nickname Karyuri, hardly hides his dancing passion whenever he listens to a song on the radio and, despite his very young age, his dancing talent impressed Meddy ever since he saw a video of him dancing his new song “We Don’t Care”, which is a collaboration with Tanzanian music star Rayvanny and DJ Rommy Jones. The singer has since been trying to get in touch with him and succeeded to reach him through efforts made by showbiz journalist Emmy Nsengiyumva, who found him at his home in Kanazi Cell, Nyamata Sector in Bugesera District. Neither the kids nor their grandmother knows either of their fathers. Meddy was able to speak to the kid on a telephone and pledged to buy him clothes and food supplies besides taking charge of his school fees. “I finally found the boy…His name is Karyuri!!! From now on Karyuri is Family. Now Karyuri will soon be in school, he will have food and clothes, and he will have professional dance classes,” the singer posted on Instagram. “This kid inspired me to do more. My Journey starts here, feel free to join the movement. May God bless you all,” he added. Having realized that Karyugahawe has a dancing talent in him, a young boy from the same neighbourhood volunteered to train him and later created an Instagram page for him to share all short videos of him dancing different songs. Meddy also promised to find him a team of talented dancers so they can help him grow and nurture his talent so he can become one of the best dancers in the country in the future. He also recommended him to professional UK-based choreographer Sherrie Silver, who is known for charity activities among children in need. After a week, Meddy’s new song “We Don’t Care” is already a hit. It has so far gathered over 854,410 after just a few days. The audio was co-produced by producers Madebeats and Bob Pro, while the video was directed by Meddy Saleh.
