RAF finally release WXC team After a lot of deliberations, the technical committee of the national athletics federation have finally released the team for the forthcoming World Cross Country Championship scheduled for March 28 in Amman, Jordan. The team of eight includes five boys and three girls and both will compete in the senior categories against the world’s best. The boys’ team is comprises Jean Baptiste Simuceka, Gervais Hakizimana, Eric Sebahire, Felix Nyirenganya and Sylvain Rukundo and the girls are Adeline Musanyezeu, Jean d’arc Mukakigeli and Claudette Mukasakindi. After finally putting out the team, the federation Secretary General, Appollinaire Munyangoga admitted that it took them long to release the team because they wanted to first confirm the budget for the event from the Sports ministry. “We were not sure about the amount of money the ministry would give us. Initially, we wanted to take ten athletes but we are taking only eight because the money is not enough. “We believe the boys will perform well because they have a lot of experience in these competitions,” Munyangoga told Times Sport. The notable absentee from the team is Dieudonne Disi, who requested not to be considered for the world event as he preferred to compete in the Paris Marathon, set for April 5. Ends
