One of the sectors that have been hit the hardest by the Covid-19 pandemic is tourism. Yet, it ranks high up there when it comes to generating revenues for the country. This is a difficult time for the industry, but one thing for sure is that the sector will rise up again. Before we get back to some sort of normalcy, the industry especially hotels, will need all the support they can get to keep their doors open. Those with the means should not shy away from spending on these establishments. That little spend will not only keep the hotel lights on but will give lifelines to the employees they hire, many of whom lost their jobs or proportions of their income. On their part, the hotels should be creative with deals and activities that attract clientele. And also heavily advertise the packages. Of course, all this has to be done while adhering to the Covid-19 prevention measures. Businesses too that used to host events, should resume as well. With public testing for the virus now possible and with information on prevention now available, the meetings can now safely take place in these facilities. The survival of the hotels is based on how the domestic market spends on them. Let us give them support during these tough times.
