Thursday, June 20 Women Rwanda 2-0 Benin Rwanda women’s beach volleyball pair Valentine Munezero and Benita Mukandayisenga started their journey to the Paris 2024 Olympics impressively after beating Benin 2-0 in the opening game of the 2024 CAVB beach volleyball continental cup which is in Morocco on Thursday, June 20. The tournament, taking place at Kabila Beach in Tetouan, serves as the second and final qualifying round which will decide who will win ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games slated for July 26 to August 11 in Paris, France. ALSO READ: Beach V-ball teams off to Morocco for Continental Cup Munezero and Mukandanyisenga teamed up to claim the first set 21-15 against their Beninese opponents Djami and Kouagou before winning the second set 21-13 to win the game in convincing fashion. Rwanda, who are drawn in Group A alongside Benin and host nation Morocco, qualified for the CAVB beach volleyball Continental Cup after finishing in the top three during the CAVB Zone V qualifiers held in Kenya’s coastal town of Mombasa between December 19-24. They are representing the Zone V alongside Egypt and Kenya. The winners in the women’s and men’s CAVB Continental Cup will earn a spot at the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris.
