APR duo return from ‘pro trials’

APR’s midfielders Haruna Niyonzima and Jean Baptist Mugiraneza (Pic) have returned from professional trials in France that never were. According to Mugiraneza, they reached Le Havre on March 13 but were taken to the club’s Formation Center which teaches football to U-18 youth players. “By the time we arrived there, we found them (Le Havre) preparing for the league which means we never got any chance to train with the first team. “We did the best we could during the short time we there, and told us that they will get back to us as soon as possible,” revealed the hard-working Mugiraneza. However, the national U-20 star confessed that he not will consider going back to Le Havre if recalled because he was disappointed with the manner they were handled while there. Meanwhile, the third trialist Elias Uzamukunda, who went to Nantes, is expected to strike a deal sooner or later because the club have shown great interest in him hence postponing his return to Kigali. The U-20 skipper Niyonzima, Mugiraneza and Uzamukunda were outstanding in the African Youth Championship though their services didn’t earn Rwanda a place in semi-finals which would have enabled Rwanda to qualify for her maiden Fifa World Youth Championship.
