SPENN Rwanda powered by I&M Bank continues to support a cashless economy by introducing new features and services, developing its distribution, and onboarding new partners where SPENN is accepted as a payment method. Users are now able to pay VubaVuba orders at no extra costs and pay their bills on eStep with no additional fees. More than that, the process of funding a SPENN account has been simplified by adding bank transfers from any bank as a solution to cash-in. As more people turn to internet shopping due to physical stores being closed during the coronavirus pandemic, seamless and secure mobile payment solutions are more asked for than ever. As a cost-free solution, SPENN continues to grow and expand its partnerships, thereby allowing users to not only use SPENN in physical stores, but also for online shopping. Following the announcement of a partnership with VubaVuba and eStep, SPENN has now introduced Bank transfers as a new feature to the SPENN application. All SPENN users are able to transfer money from any bank account to their SPENN account in less than 24 hours. SPENN is continuously working on adding more ways of topping-up and cashing out. Speaking on the announcement, Robin Bairstow, the Chief Executive Officer at I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc. said, “The Bank’s partnership with SPENN will continue to ensure improved efficiency to all our clients through constant innovations and keeping up with the pace of digital transformations globally.” “SPENN aims to address customer requests by constantly adding new features to the SPENN app which allow users to go cashless and transact with no additional fees,” said Norbert Haguma, SPENN Country Manager. All of us, whether it is through our work, personally or both have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. SPENN Rwanda believes that partnering with online platforms helps to limit the spread of COVID-19 by allowing its users to avoid crowded places such as supermarkets or restaurants. Mr. Haguma added “SPENN users can cash in with the nearest agent or at any I&M Bank branch. Introducing bank transfers as a new possibility, users can simply transfer money to SPENN without having the need to physically go to the bank or an agent. We strive to continue supporting the government initiative to make Rwanda a cashless economy by increasing partnerships with local vendors, where SPENN users can transact cost-free, always.” SPENN will soon also introduce a cost-free savings product, aiming to help users save money by focusing attention on savings goals. Furthermore, as SPENN provides cost-free transactions, the company has launched a pilot donation project to help support vulnerable patients in public hospitals by partnering with Solid Africa. Anyone can donate to Solid Africa through SPENN and every RWF donated will go to supporting patients.
