NORTHERN PROVINCE Police in the Musanze District have advised residents in the rural communities to report corruption cases, especially among circles of those in authority, in order to curb the vice. The Regional Police Commander-RPC Supt. Roger Rutikanga, made the call on Monday, while launching the anti-corruption week initiated by the Rwanda National Police. Scores of residents gathered to watch police who wore tags bearing the words Anti Corruption, which they are expected to keep wearing until the end of the week. Addressing residents in Ruhengeri town, the RPC wondered why people should pay for police or leader’s services, yet it’s their duty to serve them. He was alluding to cases of bribery among some of the community leaders. Police availed mobile telephone toll free numbers to the residents to always call to report corruption cases. The anti-corruption week aims at engaging residents to work with police to fight bribery, and other forms of corruption. The week will be celebrated countrywide from March 9 to 13. Ends
