MP Shogo Mlozi, who was one of the nine representatives of Tanzania in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), unexpectedly passed on in the wee hours of Thursday, June 13, at Mount Meru Hospital in Arusha, according to a statement from the regional assembly. The EAC Secretariat posted on its X page, on June 13, that “it is deeply saddened” by the demise of Mlozi. The Speaker of the regional house announced her sudden passing noting that she was a dedicated member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA). Sudden demise of the Hon. It added that her passion in promoting unity and cooperation among the member states of the East African Community was evident in her work and advocacy within the Assembly and beyond. Her dedication to advancing the goals and objectives of the East African Community will be sorely missed. “Mlozi's passing is a great loss to the East African Legislative Assembly and the entire East African Community. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time,” the statement reads in part.
