Rwanda on Saturday, May 9, reported four recoveries of COVID-19 and seven new confirmed cases. This brought the tally of active COVID-19 cases in the country to 140, against 140 recoveries. The new positive cases were drawn from 1,198 sample tests according to a daily update from the Ministry of Health. With no reported fatality to date, the country recently eased the COVID-19 lockdown allowing most businesses to resume operations for 15 days. However, everyone has been urged to put on facemasks in public and in multi-family compounds, to continue washing hands regularly, and to practice physical distancing among other directives. Citizens are also reminded to always call 114- the toll-free line of Rwanda Biomedical Center, whenever they experience symptoms of this pandemic such as fever, dry cough and shortness of breath.
