Bourbon Coffee opens at airport

KICUKIRO - Bourbon Coffee, one of Rwanda’s finest coffee shops on Friday, opened its third branch at Kanombe International Airport. According to Victoria Keen, Bourbon Coffee’s Managing Director, this branch was purposely established with the aim of marketing Rwandan coffee by bringing it closer to travellers who go through the airport. “It is amazing that only after two years we have managed to open a third store. This branch is a gateway to Rwanda and has the first taste of the Rwandan coffee, customer service will be our number one priority as we endeavour to give the best services here as well,” Keen told The Sunday Times. The new branch was officially launched by the Minister of Commerce, Monique Nsanzabaganwa. She commended the Bourbon Coffee management for their innovativeness in relation to making the airport more attractive. “It has given our airport a new look and our aim is to ensure that coming to Rwanda is as enjoyable as possible. This initiative is also in line with our policy of promoting coffee consumption locally so that Rwandans can not only export but also enjoy Rwandan coffee,” she said. Dr. Richard Masozera, the Director General of Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority, said that this shop will come in handy, since the airport lacked a food and beverage stop centre. “We now have a facility that can easily hold over 100 people. It also has wireless internet services and will certainly be an interactive point for those departing, escorting their families or even arriving,” he said. Bourbon’s other branches are located in Kigali at the Union Trading Centre (UTC) and at the MTN Centre in Nyarutarama. Ends
