Amavubi head coach Torsten Spittler has said he doesn't know yet whether his contract will be renewed despite his impressive output since he took charge of the national team in November 2023. The German tactician has transformed Amavubi against the odds since his arrival, winning three matches and drawing twice while the team lost only one match against Benin. Under his tutelage, Rwanda currently sit top of Group C in the ongoing World Cup 2026 Africa qualifiers with 7 points. They will stay at the top until March 2025. Spittler has he has five months left on his contract but, asked about potentially extending his stay, he said that everything lies in the hands of his employers, Rwanda FA.
