For three weeks, Rwanda has been under lockdown where only essential services have been operating. Public gatherings were banned, including churches. Churches alternatively shifted their services online and used virtual tools to continue spreading the gospel. On Sunday, April 12th, it will not be business as usual in different churches across the country. To help Christians celebrate the special day virtually and safely from their home, The New Times gathered platforms on which you can follow services. Catholic Church Early this week, the Archdiocese of Kigali released a week-long program about Easter celebrations and services. On Saturday at 9 pm, Easter Eve service will be aired on the national TV and Pacis TV and YouTube. On Easter, Sunday at 11.30 am, Catholic Church will broadcast a live service on national TV, Pacis TV and Youtube. Anglican Church Bishop Nathan Amoti of Anglican Diocese of Kigali told this publication that they have prepared a service with different messages from Anglican Bishops from around the country. It is not only for Kigali, he said. Those short speeches will be aired on different platforms with a live church service from 10 am. The service will be aired on Isango TV, Inkoramutima TV on YouTube and Facebook. New Life Bible Church Rwanda Fred Katagwa, an assistant to Senior Pastor Charles Mugisha of New Life Bible Church announced that the services will broadcasted on YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp where members usually gather and discuss the gospel. “We have already recorde part of the service which will be broadcasted until 10.30 am when live service starts,” he explained. Four Square Gospel Church Bishop Masengo who heads the church said the Easter service will be given virtually, “just as they have been conducting services online for weeks now,” he said. People can follow the Easter service on Four Square Gospel Church TV on YouTube. They can also follow Bishop Masengo’s live preaching on Instagram and Facebook. “Our YouTube channel, we have English and Kinyarwanda services. We are viewed by over 5,000 people. I hope people will enjoy Easter,” he said. African Revival Palace Ministries Bishop Mulisa James will preach the importance of Easter on Sunday. The sermon will be live on Facebook. “Our members also have WhatsApp groups where we continuously discuss and preach. It will be the same on Easter, we will celebrate virtually,” he explained
