Rwanda has graced a number of world figures and there is no doubt that America’s Betsy King is one of them. The legendary professional lady golfer arrived yesterday and will among other things conduct a one-day golfer’s development clinic at Kigali Golf Club in Nyarutarama. On top of that, she will also donate golf equipment to the club to boost the club’s development programme. King is a former US Open champion and the leading money winner on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour in 1984, 1989 and 1993. She is being accompanied by three other ex-professional lady golfers Katherine Hull, Wendy Posillico and Renee Powell. King’s career goes as far as finishing in the top ten on the money list every year from 1984 to 1995 and again in 1997. She also won 34 titles on the tour, including six major championships.
