Rwanda’s men and women beach volleyball teams on Thursday, June 6, left the country to take part in the second and final qualifiers of the 2024 beach volleyball continental cup slated for June 18-24 in Tangiers, Morocco. The two teams, tow in each gender category, departed Kigali at 4pm aboard Qatar Airways. The men’s team includes Olivier Ntagengwa and Venuste Gatsinzi while Valentine Munezero and Benita Mukandayisenga will represent the country in the women’s fray. ALSO READ: Beach volleyball: Rwanda confirmed for Zone V 2024 Olympic qualifiers According to head coach Christopher Mudahinyuka, the teams are “prepared enough to excel at the continental showpiece” where they hope to perform well and qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in France. Rwanda earned a ticket to the next round (Continental Phase) after defeating neighboring countries Burundi, Uganda, and Kenya during the Zone V beach volleyball Olympic qualifiers that took place in Kenya in December 2023.
