On February 26, all roads will lead to Kivu Beach, Rubavu District for the annual Tour du Rwanda concert. Since 2017, Kina Music, a local music label, has been in charge of organising a series of concerts at the annual cycling tournament. This year, the highly anticipated concert will feature performances by Bull Dog, Davis D, King James, Knowless Butera, Bruce Melodie, Igor Mabano and Nel Ngabo. The concert is among sideline events at the tournament and will offer cycling fans and the general public access to free medical checkups, including HIV testing, among other services. Clement Ishimwe, the organiser of the concert, told The New Times that the concert aims to provide revelers with entertainment beyond the sport, as artistes are given enough time to perform, while a medical team also provides free health services on board to ensure that artistes are performing before a healthy audience. “We bring these concerts to create a more entertaining environment around the tournament to give the cycling fans the music performance they deserve. This is going to be our fourth time doing this and every year is a good experience for us to play our part in making the tournament an even more fascinating sporting event,” he said. This is the 12th edition of Tour Rwanda. From Rubavu, the concert will be held at Ubworoherane Stadium in Musanze District the following day and conclude at Kigali Car free Zone on February 29, on the final day of the cycling tournament.
