I&M Bank Rwanda and Muhima Investment Company (MIC) signed a partnership on Wednesday, June 5 to offer financing solutions for businesses and individuals buying properties in the MIC business complex. The collaboration offers a financing option where the bank will cover up to 80 per cent of the purchase price, repayable over 10 years. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) offers 240 premium properties in the business complex, making ownership more accessible to a wider range of businesses in the country. Benjamin Mutimura, CEO of I&M Bank Rwanda, announced that the partnership aims to provide a good workspace in the MIC complex and streamline the process for individuals and businesses to obtain loans. “By providing up to 80 per cent financing repayable over 10 years, we are making it easier for businesses to invest in their future without worrying about having the full purchase price at once.” He highlighted that this opportunity is available not only to I&M Bank clients but also to those who wish to join. Chairman of the Board of MIC, Fabrice Shema emphasised the support provided by I&M Bank through their financing solutions saying, “Small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) looking to establish a presence in the city now have a place to work. Through our partnership with I&M Bank, they can access loans, helping businesses achieve their dreams and contribute to economic development.” Shema added that MIC offers over 240 properties in their business complex, allowing individuals to purchase workspace at a fair price, starting from Rwf 20 million. “With the bank’s support, we can now offer our clients not just a place to do business, but a property they can call their own,” he said. He expressed gratitude towards the bank for understanding their business needs and making the process straightforward, leading to the partnership. Incorporated in 1963, I&M Bank Rwanda is the oldest bank in the country and one of the leading players in the industry with a strong footprint across the country.
