Editor,The fact that the Rwanda DR Congo initiative to bring peace in the region was recently hailed by the UN chief, Ban Ki- Moon, is encouraging. The operation has left much of eastern DR Congo relatively peaceful. We expect, as a result of the operation, to see not only the DRC in tranquillity, but also the Great Lakes region. The UN chief’s comment therefore, gives peace initiatives added impetus to accomplish the long-term peace agenda. MUSANVE
