The Christian Life Assembly (CLA), Nyarutarama, was filled with an uplifting spirit as gospel music couple Fabrice and Maya Nzeyimana launched their seventh album Transformation on Sunday, June 2.The worship event was not just a concert but also a live recording session, bringing their new 15-track collection of original music to life.Transformation is designed to uplift, inspire, and ignite change within individuals and communities.The duo, supported by Heavenly Melodies Ministries (HM) Africa, took the stage to deliver a powerful performance from the very beginning to finish.Gaby Kamanzi set the tone for the evening when she sang her popular song 'Ndakomeye' preparing the audience for a deeply spiritual experience.It was yet an evening of gospel music couples as renowned Burundian gospel singer and Apostle Apollinaire Habonimana and his wife were next to the stage and they made their singing connection felt when they performed together 'Igituma Ndirimba', 'Negereye Intebe Yawe', and 'mana Niyo Buhungiro', among others.ALSO READ: Live recordings: Trendy or evolution of the gospel music industry?And it was Fabrice and Maya who were the main acts of the concert during which they performed the majority of the songs available on their album which drew revelers’ emotions and attention.From 'Umuntu wa Kane,' 'Zura' and 'Nje Gushima' to 'Sifa na Shangwe,' 'Emmanuel,' 'Ivyizigiro', 'Mwami w'Ubuntu' and 'Reka Ndamuririmbe', the couple made sure that each song carried messages of transformation, intercession, revelation, thanksgiving, and spiritual devotion, leaving a longing for divine power on the audience.First and foremost, this event was about allowing people to hear our music live but there's something special about experiencing it in person. We're excited to share this music with everyone. They made their love story official when they got engaged around 2012. And, since then, they noted that one of the greatest joys, among others, is the many beautiful aspects of serving with your partner.It's an amazing gift but also, if you're not careful, it can also strain your marriage or your relationship. Because you have to know how to balance those different relationships you have. For example, we sing in a band together and our dynamic as husband and wife can sometimes affect the dynamic we have when we sing together in a band, Maya told The New Times.We have learned to walk through some things to even separate our work life and our private life. For example, he’s the producer, if I tell him, I don't like this song, I think we should do it like this, he doesn't come back to me and say you are my wife, you need to submit.The songstress said there is always respect as a couple and as musicians.“He(Fabrice) respects that space when we're in it. We work together as partners and when it comes to our family, it’s a different relationship. It’s just knowing those boundaries and knowing how to manage all those different relations.“It was challenging at first because some things were not clear but now, we've learned to manage those relationships so that our personal life doesn't affect our professional life and vice versa.The Transformation album marks the couple's seventh release, following their 2019 album Overflow 19”, which featured the viral song Muremyi w’Isi.
