BENEDICTION Cycling Club have received a boost of Rwf40 million from their new sponsors Ignite Power for the upcoming 2020 season, the club has announced. And, as a result, the club will change the name to Team Benediction Ignite. The Rubavu-based side, created in 2005, participated in four international races in their maiden season as a UCI Continental Team last year. “We are very excited to secure the sponsorship from Ignite Power. It will go a long way in the sustainability of the team and enabling us to compete in more competitions this year,” said Felix Sempoma, the club’s founding president. He added: “This is the beginning, and we hope more partners will come on board.” Last year, out of four international races, Benediction won two – the Tour de la RD Congo and Tour du Senegal – through Jean Claude Nzafashwanayo and Didier Munyaneza, respectively. Sempoma’s team will start the 2020 campaign with this year’s Tour du Rwanda on February 16-23. Benediction roster for 2020 season: Patrick Byukusenge, Renus Uhiriwe Byiza, Uwiduhaye, Didier Munyaneza, Jean Claude Nzafashwanayo, Yves Nkurunziza, Eric Manizabayo, Janvier Rugamba, Loick Tshiana Kamena and Daniel Ishara Kinanira.
