President Paul Kagame is in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, where he will attend the first Korea-Africa Summit. Slated for Tuesday, June 4, the summit will attract delegations from African countries and related international organisations, key figures from Korean and international business communities, academia, civil society groups, press, among others. ALSO READ: Rwanda, South Korea sign cooperation pacts According to the organisers, the event will serve as “an important turning point” for the two regions in significantly enhancing their pragmatic cooperation as it will connect the respective strengths of Korea and Africa. President Kagame is expected to deliver remarks at the summit’s opening alongside other Heads of State and Government. He will also visit Yonsei University on the sidelines of the summit where he will be presented with an Honorary Doctorate. It is home to 178 research centers. The Korea-Africa Summit will take place under the theme “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity.” It will be co-chaired by President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea and Mohamed El Ghazouanu of Mauritania who is also the African Union Chairman.
