Saturday APR Vs AS Kigali 15:00 Heroes Vs Bugesera 15:00 Kiyovu Vs Etincelles 15:00 Espoir Vs Mukura 15:00 Sunday Rayon Vs Gasogi 15:00 Gicumbi Vs Marines 15:00 Musanze Vs Muhanga 15:00 Sunrise Vs Police 15:00 Record 17-time champions APR will be looking to extend both their lead at the top and the unbeaten run this season when they face AS Kigali at Kigali Stadium on Saturday, starting at 3pm. APR are the only unbeaten side in the 2019/2020 Rwanda Premier League, having dropped points in four draws after 15 match rounds, while struggling Peace Cup holders have only managed three victories. After the league’s first-half, Eric Nshimiyimana’s side have 17 points out of a possible 45. While APR are enjoying one of their best starts to a new season, AS Kigali have endured their worst. However, in a recent interview with this publication, Nshimiyimana was confident that finishing in top five was still possible. Despite a difficult start, though, only six points separate 11th-placed AS Kigali and fourth-placed AS Muhanga who will be up against Musanze at Ubworoherane Stadium, in Musanze District, on Sunday. “Winning this game (against APR) would boost our confidence, and that is our target,” said Nshimiyimana. He added: “Our aim is to get good results, and I think my team has what it takes to claim all the points on Saturday. He, however, also admitted: “We are determined but we know it will be difficult given that APR are a big team and have been in great form this season.” In a separate interview, APR tactician Mohamed Adil Erradi told Times Sport that his side will not take ‘any chances’ against AS Kigali – or any other team – as they pursue a record-extending 18th league title. “We have shown that we can win against anyone, and my players want to continue on that path. This is going to be a tough match on both sides – because we drew the first leg – but we are ready. We will approach it as a do-or-die game. The army side look to start the new year from where they left off in 2019 after beating bitter rivals Rayon Sports 2-0 last month before the festive break. In other matches on Saturday, Heroes take on Bugesera, SC Kiyovu face Etincelles whereas fifth-placed Mukura travel to Kamarampaka Stadium for a crunch against 14th-placed Espoir. In the two sides’ first-leg last October, Espoir held Mukura to a 1-all draw at Huye Stadium.
