RAYON Sports have boosted their defence following the acquisition of former AS Kigali skipper Soter Kayumba from Kenyan side AFC Leopards. The 26-year-old penned one-and-a-half years with the Blues on Monday evening. However, the club was reluctant to reveal how much they had spent on the transfer. “He is a player we have been tracking for some time, and we are delighted that he has finally signed. We hope he can help our defence not to leak goals as we fight to retain the league title, and also in the campaign to win the Peace Cup,” said Rayon Sports spokesperson Jean Paul Nkurunziza. He further noted: “For now, what is important is that he has signed. The specifics of his contract will not be revealed. According to most local pundits, Kayumba will have a stiff competition to break into the starting eleven ahead of already established centre-backs Hervé Rugwiro and Saidi Iragire.
