Wednesday, May 29 Rutsiro FC 0-1 Vision FC Vision FC won their third straight second division playoff game after Wednesday’s 1-0 away win over Rutsiro FC at Mucyeba Stadium saw them put one foot in topflight football. Before the match, Vision FC were leading the table with six points from two wins while Rutsiro were second with four points. The home side needed to win at home victory to claim the top spot but the visitors had a different plan as they knew a win would propel them closer to promotion. Musa Gatera’s side started strong, threatening Vision FC with long balls during the first 10 minutes. However, Vision FC quickly adapted and began creating their own chances. Kajuba, making his first start of the playoffs, opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. Vision FC had opportunities to extend their lead before halftime, but missed chances meant the first half ended 1-0. The second half started slowly, but after 10 minutes, Rutsiro showed signs of recovery, creating good patterns in an attempt to equalize. Despite their efforts, it wasn't enough to secure a point at home. In another match, AS Muhanga secured their first three points of the playoffs with a 2-0 victory over Intare FC at Muhanga Stadium. Abdul Mbarushimana's team had lost their first two games to Vision FC and Rutsiro. The action returns this weekend on Saturday, June 2, when Rutsiro hosts Intare at Mucyeba Stadium, while AS Muhanga welcomes Vision FC at Muhanga Stadium. Vision FC now lead the table with nine points, followed by Rutsiro with four points. Muhanga moved to third place with three points, while Intare FC find themselves at the bottom with one point.
