Every time the end of year approaches, artistes outdo themselves, releasing song after song, perhaps to spice up the festive season and end the year on a high. November and the first days of December have already seen several Rwandan artistes outing songs, some of which are already rocking the airwaves and hangouts. Here are some of the tunes that are defining the end of year; Can’t get enough (The Ben ft Otile Brown) This dancehall banger that ushered us into December is a combination of Swahili and English lyrics to cater for fans all over East Africa. The Ben’s collaboration with the Kenyan singer comes after he represented Rwanda at the glamorous One Africa Music Fest held in Dubai last month, making him one of the few artistes from Africa to participate in the high end event. The audio and video were both produced by US-based Rwandan record producer Lick Lick. Since its release a few days ago, the song has already garnered more than 170, 000 views on YouTube. None (Alyn Sano) A few months after dropping her single titled, “For us’’, a love song, the fast rising RnB singer has yet released another song ‘None’, a Kiyarwanda word for ‘now’ that calls on people to forgive those that have wronged them now, as we are all humans that make mistakes. The song together with its video were released on December 3. Mfate Moto (Deejay Pius) After ‘Homba Homboka’ was released six months ago, DJ Pius yesterday, December 4, premiered the video of his new song ‘Mfate Moto’, an Afrobeat love jam produced by MadeBeats, and the video directed by Serge Girishya. The deejay and founder of 1K Entertainment has been working around the clock to promote his music and that of artistes under his label such as Amalon, who has enjoyed success on the local music scene ever since he dropped his R&B hit titled, ‘Byakubaho.’ Karibu Nyumbani (Zizou Al Pacino ft. all stars) This love song by music producer Zizou Al Pacino featuring Rwandan music stars, Bruce Melody, Riderman, Uncle Austin and Amalon is already a hit song thanks to its sensational lyrics from the different singers. The lyrics video that was posted on December 1, features fans singing to the song. It is not the first time the producer is collaborating with several artistes, his song ‘Wimfatanya’ that featured all-stars was also caught by storm. Both songs were produced by Knoxbeat of Monster Records. Uuh Mama (Willy Paul ft Meddy) As several collabos with foreign artistes continue to hit the airwaves, U.S.-based Rwandan Singer Meddy, also featured in ‘Uuh mama’, a song by Kenyan artiste Willy Paul. The song was released yesterday and is expected to increase Meddy’s fan base in East Africa following his several performances in Rwanda and Tanzania.
