Sunday Rwanda v Cameroon 18:00 VINCENT Mashami has challenged his players to show their ability to bounce back when Rwanda host Cameroon on Sunday following the mid-week defeat to Mozambique. The game starts 6pm, at Kigali Stadium. The national football team, Amavubi, had a nightmare start to their Group F qualification campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Thursday as they lost 2-0 to Mozambique in Maputo. “The game against Cameroon is a huge one for us. It will be a good test, keeping in mind that we lost to Mozambique. We want to turn things around,” said Mashami. “I want my players to go out there and show that they can bounce back.” In the meantime, Mozambique will be looking to pull clear in the group when they travel to Cape Verde in their second match on Monday. The latter played out a draw with Cameroon in the two sides’ opener on Tuesday. For Rwanda to secure a ticket to the 2021 AFCON finals tournament, to be held in Cameroon, Mashami and his men will need to finish among the top two teams of the group. editor@newtimesrwanda.com
