Musanze and Gasabo men and women's wheelchair basketball clubs on Sunday, May 26, won the Genocide Memorial Tournament that concluded at Kimironko courts. ALSO READ: Eagles, Gasabo reign supreme in Wheelchair Basketball finals The competition is organized by the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports on the occasion of honoring victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. In the men's competition brought together the top four teams including Eagles, Kicukiro, Musanze, and Indangamirwa. Musanze clinched the trophy after narrowly beating 23-22 the Eagles in the final while Kicukiro won the third place after beating Indangamirwa 26-21. The women's category also saw Gasabo, Kicukiro, and Move Dream contesting for the trophy. Gasabo emerged victorious after defeating Kicukiro 20-15 in the final. This tournament marks the second commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi organized by NPC this year. The two teams win the trophies which had previously been won by Gasabo and Bugesera in men and women's categories respectively.
