Rwandan R&B singer Yvan Buravan has been nominated for African Talent Awards (ATA) 2019. The event is a platform designed to reward and recognise young African talents both home and abroad in all fields. The aim is to promote the work of young people for a conscious and enlightened Africa. The Prix de Couvertes RFI 2018 winner is competing with some 600 other contestants from 35 African countries in 38 categories. The ‘This is love’ hitmaker took to his Instagram page on November 12 to announce the news, requesting his fans to vote for him. “After a long year of an African tour and many other parts of the continent, it’s a huge pleasure to be nominated as the Best Male Artiste of the Year in African Talent Awards 2019. The votes are open and I trust you. Let’s have this one too!” Buravan is competing in the categories of Best Male Artiste with Congolese rapper Innoss’B. “What I want is to raise the Rwandan music to another level. All other fields are developing; we shouldn’t be left behind,” Buravan told The New Times. The awards ceremony will be held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on December 14.
